    Financial support for owners

Your business is moving forward. Your numbers should help you decide.

You want to earn more, hire or grow the business. But you lack perspective on what it really earns and the cash available. Mercova helps owners of SMEs and startups interpret their numbers each month and prepare what comes next.

    The decisions you face

    The questions behind your decisions

Revenue alone cannot answer them. Connect margins, commitments and payment dates to make decisions with the full picture.

    Do I have enough cash?

Payroll, tax, a large order, a slow paying client. Without a forward view of cash you are steering by the rearview mirror, and surprises always cost more than a plan.

    Can I pay myself more?

Separate earnings, available cash and what the business needs to retain. We assess financial capacity to discuss with your advisers, alongside tax and legal analysis.

Which clients or activities justify our effort?

A popular offer may consume too much time or resource. We examine its contribution to fixed costs and available data to understand what actually remains.

Can we afford to hire or invest?

Costs often arrive before receipts. A forecast with several scenarios helps examine commitments, the lowest cash balance and the conditions needed before deciding.

Fictional example illustrating our financial management method.

    5. Can you hire before the receipts arrive?

Starting with month M’s €90,000 cash balance, we compare three paths. This fictional hire costs €6,000 a month, plus €6,000 of initial spending. These are assumed total costs, not a salary benchmark.

Hiring reduces closing cash in M+1 to €58,000. Before deciding, we check the lowest balance within the month, the buffer required by commitments and genuinely secured receipts. Three positive closing balances do not establish that hiring is affordable.

Ongoing financial support, decisions every month

A dashboard is a starting point. We propose annual support around your results, cash and upcoming decisions, with a retainer billed monthly according to the agreed scope.

    1. 01

      Understand your need

In a free initial 20 minute call, we discuss your business, available figures and a specific decision that concerns you.

    2. 02

      Agree a clear annual scope

If there is a fit, the proposal sets out deliverables, meetings, data requirements, monthly fees and duration terms. You decide before committing.

    3. 03

      Analyse, decide and review actions

Each month brings an interpretation of the figures and a discussion of decisions. Cash reviews can be more frequent when the need, data and scope support it.

For owners of SMEs and startups with an established business, typically around 1 to 30 million in annual revenue. The need for recurring analysis, data quality and your involvement matter as much as size.

    How Mercova helps

Support that meets you at every stage

Mercova focuses on finance and economic decisions. A coach may address leadership or organisation; your accountant may already advise you. We clarify what is missing from your financial view and follow up agreed decisions.

Stage 1 · Get a grip on cash

See your runway and steer with numbers

A rolling cash forecast, clean monthly reporting and the five to eight KPIs that actually drive your business, delivered by a fractional CFO instead of a full time hire.

    Stage 2 · Finance growth

    Prepare financing for your plans

Assess repayment capacity, prepare financial information and compare scenarios before a bank discussion. Financing approval and terms depend on the lender.

Stage 3 · Build value and prepare to sell

Be ready long before the buyer calls

We close the gaps that erode value in due diligence, from quality of earnings to clean reporting and dependency on you, so the business sells for what it is worth.
